We had an in-person shiva on Wednesday, July 26 in Chicago - sharing stories and favorite memories about Dick. We hope to host a virtual shiva within the next week or two and anticipate a Memorial Service celebrating Dick's life in the coming months.
We appreciate the outpouring of love and support from friends and family.

Richard (Dick) Durning, 78, died on Sunday, July 23, 2023, in Chicago. Dick suffered a devastating brain aneurysm. Born in Denver to Ruth and Al Durning, Dick attended Coe College. After he graduated, he worked a year as a Vista Volunteer in Tulsa, OK. He came to Chicago as a part of Teacher Corps, earning his Master’s of Education and going on to work as a public school teacher for 10+ years.
