Richard's obituary

Honoring the Life of Richard Frank Deloy

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Richard Frank Deloy, 64, from Troy, MI, passed away on March 15, 2025. As his loved ones prepare to say goodbye, we want to honor his incredible life and ensure his final wishes are met with the love and dignity he deserves.

A Life Well-Lived

Born on April 22, 1960, to Victor and Virginia Deloy, Richard grew up in Troy, Michigan, alongside his siblings Barb, Kathy, and Victor. He attended Kimball High School, where he played baseball and developed a lifelong love for sports. A true adventurer, he dabbled in many careers before attending college in his 30s to become a water specialist. He was married in 1989 to Patricia Musico, and they had 2 daughters together whom Richard was crazy about.

Richard was a man of many passions. He found joy in fishing, hunting, and cheering on his favorite hockey, baseball, and football teams. He was a classic rock fanatic, never missing an opportunity to reminisce about the legendary concerts he attended. He also had a deep love for travel, always seeking new places to explore, which ultimately led him back to the Philippines, where he spent his most recent years. Above all, he was a devoted father and grandfather, with an unmatched sense of humor, a loud and boisterous personality, and a deep, unconditional love for his family.

Richard was the most supportive dad, the best grandpa, and an unforgettable friend to so many. His laughter, his unfiltered humor, and his fierce love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A Family Man

Richard is survived by his children:

  • Alyssa Deloy of Grayling, MI
  • Victoria Deloy of High Point, NC
  • Jason Adams of Lansing, MI
  • Danielle Major (stepdaughter) of Roger's City, MI

He also leaves behind his siblings, Barb, Kathy, and Victor, and a large, loving family including 13 grandchildren who will cherish his memory forever.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Virginia Deloy, and his step-son Ryan Major.

A Celebration of Life

Richard’s family is working to bring him home to Michigan, where a Celebration of Life will be planned in the coming months. Once the process of transporting him internationally is complete, details will be shared so that family and friends can come together to honor his memory.
