Richard spent more than 30 years serving the City of Urbana before retiring, though his sense of service to the community remained. Throughout his life and later years, he was an avid member of the Eagles Club in Champaign and was an active member of the Lions Club as well as a dedicated member of the Village Board of Ramsey, Illinois. Additionally, he served many years with the volunteer fire department, always willing to help those in need. His favorite hobbies included thrifting, walking his beloved yorkies and he faithfully had dinner at Urbana Gardens daily. Richard will be missed by the many friends, family, and community members whose lives he touched. We find comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Marty, and his loyal dogs, Zipper and Buttons.
