Richard Hayes Daly, 85, of Summerfield FL, passed away on March 1st, 2023 after a long battle with kidney failure.

Born on January 4, 1938 to Thomas and Mary Daly in Chicago IL., Richard was a graduate of Austin High School in Chicago. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for mechanics and engineering, he helped launch and grow multiple companies throughout his 40-year career. His most recent work involved designing and building medical X-Ray equipment.

He and his wife Geneta lived in many places including Lake in the Hills (IL), Fitchburg (WI), Poway (CA), and Branford (CT). They finally retired to Summerfield (FL), where you could usually find him at his desk drawing or tinkering in the garage with his Corvette.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Hayes Brett Charles Daly.

He is survived by his wife Geneta, his sister Judy of Redondo Beach, CA., his three children, Tiffyn (Tim) Riese of Monroe, WI., Traci (Donnie) Wright of Elgin, IL., and Tim (Dana) Thurnau of Estero, FL. and seven grandchildren, Grant, Cassie, Tyler, Staci (Jake), Kennedy, Sydney, and Nathan.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for any donations to be made to The Humane Society of Marion County in his name.
