First met Richard in Kindergarten in the late 1940s
His interests in all things had a way of wearing off on others.. The capturing of Butterflies in the summer, a true kid hobby and his passion, would have a bunch of us sitting on the school playground hillside, armed with stick mounted nets ready to give chase. He had a complete collection, the envy of others!
The swampy area behind his house, belonging to that crazy Thorn family.. the capturing of frogs if you dared to venture there!
Scouting
Hockey on Cranes pond in the winter...
No cell phones or video games...
Volunteer fireman, as soon as age allowed, for years with Greenville FD...
He loved the memories of growing up in the Edgemont area of Greenburgh NY...
He was the glue of the Edgemont class of 61 with his e-mail linked server, helping all to keep in touch..
He will be missed

Doc was a terrific President of National EMS Museum. Always enjoyable to man EXHIBIT HALL booth with him. Like on earth he won't say NO to any task asked of him upstairs I will dearly miss his comradeship. Sorry for your loss. Jim Slattery
