Richard's obituary
It is with great sadness we announce that Richard “Rich” Christopher Brown left this world to join his Heavenly Father on February 12th, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born on January 1, 1956- ringing in the New Year as the first baby of Hartford, Connecticut, to his parents, Richard Julian Brown (deceased) and Margaret (Knight) Brown. His family moved to Hanover, PA in 1962, and he graduated from Southwestern High School in 1974.
Richard left the area to attend college at The King’s College, NY, and Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma, studying Accounting. He returned to Hanover to become the graphic artist for his family’s company, HPC Global. Here he met his wife, Tereska (Myers) Brown, and spent many years working alongside her.
Eventually he left to pursue his own entrepreneurial interests. He and his wife created a small Etsy business selling handmade and vintage items. They enjoyed living a slower and quieter life celebrating daily rituals with one another as well as basking in nature’s beauty. He was active in his grandchildren’s lives by helping to watch them regularly along with his wife, often capturing treasured funny moments on video to share with his kids.
Richard was an animal lover and felt most alive during his twice daily walks/hikes with his border collie Aspen. He took pleasure in writing (he was a self-published author), gardening, cooking, and art. He happily spent his days indulging his creative spirit alongside his beloved wife and soulmate.
Richard is survived by his wife of 44 years, Tereska; their children, Allison (Gidusko) and Troy, and their children by marriage, Adam Gidusko and Jill Krebs. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Seren, Rowan, and Findley. Finally his two siblings, Ruth (Bingham) and Jeffrey; their spouses, George Bingham and Pamela; and his nieces and nephew, Jenna, Emily, and Jeremy.
Please join us in celebrating Rich’s life on April 20th, 2025. (Please contact the family for more details).
