Richard's obituary
On August 6, 2023, we said our final goodbyes to a remarkable soul, Richard Perez, born June 12, 1950. Richard was a man who brought joy and laughter to everyone he met, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled.
Surviving him are his beloved children, daughters Danielle Perez and Winter Perez, and son Richard Perez. They are a testament to his legacy, embodying his love and values, his greatest accomplishments in life.
A memorial for Richard will be held on September 17, 2023, at 1:30 PM at 711 8th St. where we will gather to commemorate his remarkable life.
Richard was a true believer and an active member of the Liberty Temple Full Gospel Church, his faith shaping the man he became. His resilience, positivity, and love for life were a beacon of inspiration to everyone around him.
With a palate for Chicken Wings and honey buns and a penchant for Root beer and water, Richard enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. His love for music was a reflection of his vibrant personality, with Elvis topping his list of favorite artists.
Richard enjoyed a good game, whether it was watching Baseball, Basketball, Football, or Wrestling, or engaging in a competitive round of Spades and Mario. A fan of the Cubs, the Bulls, and the Bears, he always stood by his teams, through victories and losses. His choice of TV shows and movies were a nod to the past, with a preference for olden time movies, westerns, and wrestling.
Richard was an outdoorsman at heart, his recreational activities included fishing and walking, but what he loved the most was the quality time spent with his family. Walking was his favorite way to keep fit, and he always encouraged those around him to embrace an active lifestyle.
Remembered for his humorous and adventurous spirit, Richard was described as a social butterfly, full of curiosity and zest. His favorite color, red, symbolizing his outgoing and passionate nature.
Throughout his life, Richard shared valuable life lessons with us, teaching us the importance of respecting our parents even in difficult times, and imparting his skills in building and fixing things.
Richard Perez, the man who brought smiles into every room he entered, will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege to know him. His spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the love he shared.
