It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Richard Champagne, on November 23, 2023, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Born on July 5, 1948, Richard was known for his wit, his keen sense of humor, his generosity, and his kindness.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Diane Champagne, his loving children, Jennifer Moore, Greg Champagne, and Michael Moore, his cherished grandchildren, Trevor Moore, Andrew Champagne, Camryn Champagne, and Farrah Moore, his energetic great grandson, Forrest Moore, his loving sisters, Lynne Verville, Ann Gebel, Karen Stebbins, and Sarah Baines. He was predeceased by his dear mother and father, Catherine and Benjamin Champagne.
Richard exuded a deep passion for life, expressing it in his choice of music, games, and recreational activities. He was a great fan of Waylan Jennings and loved the competitive spirit of golf. He enjoyed hunting and his time on the green, where he was known for his skilled play and camaraderie.
His dedication and love for the game were evidenced in his numerous accomplishments, including his three-times club champion title at Beaver Meadow and his remarkable feat of achieving two aces at the Beaver Meadow Golf Course. Richard was the City Four Ball Champion in 1969 with partner Roger Mulligan, testament to his commitment and prowess in the sport. He also cared deeply for the Beaver Meadow Golf Course, contributing significantly to its growth and improvement over the years.
Richard's witty and funny character will remain fondly in our memories. His giving and kind nature made him a cherished part of our lives and brought joy to everyone around him. His absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
As we mourn the loss of Richard Champagne, we also celebrate his life and the happiness he brought into our lives. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
