RC's obituary

Richard "RC" Gene Cearley, Jr. entered into eternal rest on March 19, 2023, at the age of 57. Born on January 28, 1966, in Kansas City, Missouri, he was the son of the late Richard Gene Cearley, Sr., and Mary Magdalene Chambers Birch. RC moved to Beaufort when he was a teenager and remained there for the rest of his life. Throughout his life, he was a loving son, husband, father, skilled tradesman, and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Richard was a kind-hearted and fun-loving individual. His easy-going nature, and the perseverance he demonstrated throughout his life served as an inspiration to everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by friends and family alike.

Richard, who was also known as RC and Snap, dedicated his life to the profession of concrete and masonry. Through his hard work and dedication, Richard left a lasting legacy on the buildings and structures in the Beaufort, SC area, and surrounding counties helping to shape the community he called home.

As we mourn the loss of a dedicated partner, dear father, a skilled craftsman, and a loving friend, we take solace in the fact that Richard's memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the indelible mark he left on his beloved town of Beaufort, SC.

RC was predeceased by his sisters, Brenda Kay Vires, Junetta Cearley, and Pam Cordell. Also his brother, Fred Vires Jr.; his baby son, Freddie Michael Cearley, his father, Richard G. Cearley, Sr., his step-father, Delamas Birch

RC is survived by his Mother, Mary Magdalene Chambers Birch. His devoted partner in crime, Robin L. Dudley, who loved him dearly throughout their 23 years together. His children, Richard "Richie" Gene Cearley III, Scott "Scottie" Alan Dudley, Jr., Marina Rose Cearley, and Kyle Ray Cearley. He had one grandson, Jacob Scott Dudley.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 16th starting at 6pm at Amvets Post 70. The address is 1831 Ribault Road, Port Royal, SC 29935. We are asking for all guests to bring a covered dish. To conclude the celebration, we will be having a lantern release at the Sands.
