It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard "Cappy" Capozzoli, who left us on August 21, 2019. Born on June 3, 1962, Richard, affectionately known by many as Cappy, was a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many with his outgoing and personable nature.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Michelle Decarlo. Their love story began in 2009, a bond that not only withstood the test of time but also nurtured a level of unconditional love and acceptance that Michelle cherishes to date.

A man of diverse tastes and interests, Richard had an unparalleled zest for life. He relished his Filet Mignon with fresh cut peppers, onions, and mushrooms, and enjoyed washing it down with a draft beer accompanied by a shot of honey bourbon. He was passionate about literature, particularly works by Machiavelli and books on war, and found solace in the music of Biggie, Nickelback, Frank Sinatra, and Eminem.

His favorite TV Shows included Oz, American Greed, and The X Files, and Donny Brasco held a special place in his list of favorite movies. He admired the artistry of Vincent Van Gough and Macavelli and was an ardent supporter of The Phila Flyers and The Phila Eagles. In addition, Richard loved to play hockey and found immense joy in cooking and riding his motorcycle.

His favorite local hangouts comprised Wolf Street Cafe, JR’s Tavern, and the Xfinity Sports arena. Richard enjoyed vacationing in North Wildwood, NJ and Mexico, and he deeply cared for causes such as the Cancer Society, conversations with veterans, and the welfare of all animals. His favorite color was a reflection of his personality - dark blue, serene and profound.

A true testament to his strength of character, Richard obtained his GED and put his step-daughter through college. He was the embodiment of resilience, surviving a 16-year jail sentence without any mental health problems. Richard always had something good to say about people, a quality that endeared him to all he met.

Richard's legacy is one of love, strength, and determination. He was a beacon of positivity and his enduring spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
