Richard C. Brooks, 64, of Colorado Springs, CO, born on June 4, 1961 to the late George and LayVonne Brooks in Chicago, IL, unexpectedly transitioned from his earthly body around Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at his residence.

He is survived by two loving children: Anita of Texas and Darec (Gersely), of Colorado; three grandchildren: Davian, Aaliyah, and Aiyana; his loving brothers and sisters: Saundra and DeVerne, both of Mississippi; Marilyn of Maryland; Carolyn and Marie (Kenneth) of Colorado; George Jr. of Florida, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.

Richard is best remembered as being a good man who loved Jesus and loved to sing. He is loved and missed dearly by many.
