Richard's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Buckley Jr., on June 21, 2025. Born on July 9, 1953, Richard's life was marked by his quick wit, extensive knowledge on various subjects, satirical humor, hardworking ethos and friendly demeanor.
Richard was an accomplished chef, manager, and salesman throughout his life. Those who knew him may remember him for his eclectic love for music, with a particular affinity for American Routes on public radio and Ragtime Rick. He could often be found indulging in classic films from Turner Classic Movies, cooking shows on Viceland TV, or occasionally enjoying performances by The Black Keys. His love for reading and beagles was only surpassed by his passion for cooking. He took great enjoyment in cooking for those he loved.
The greatest lesson Richard had to share was the value of grit and determination, often exemplifying this by overcoming adversity in his life while maintaining his sense of humor. His legacy, filled with laughter and resilience, will be cherished by all who knew him. His memory will always be a beacon of inspiration for those he leaves behind.
Richard is fondly remembered by his daughter, Kimberly Mugan; his grandsons, Donovan, Ellis, and Eugene Mugan; and his granddaughter, Dovelyn Mugan. He is also survived by his sister Mary (Barry) Stormer, brother Mark Buckley, sisters Katherine Buckley-Hartman and Dorothy Quade, and his mother, Beatrice Buckley. His many nephews and nieces including Patrick (Michelle) Carney, William (Lindsay) Carney, Michael (Laura) Carney, Barry Stormer Jr., Sean (Krystel) Hartman, Melissa Hartman, Daniel (Meltem) Hartman, Robert Quade, and Joseph Quade also survive him.
Richard was predeceased by his wife, Jennifer Buckley, and his father Richard Buckley Sr. His family will miss him dearly, especially his daughter and his four grandchildren.
In memory of Richard, his loved ones are requested to cherish the laughter, the wisdom, and the warmth he brought into their lives and to carry his legacy forward through acts of kindness and resilience. May his soul rest in peace.
