I am so saddened to just now learn Briggs has passed. I actually left him a happy birthday message on the 28th. I golfed with Briggs over many summers - with my dad before he passed, and with Keith Morberg out in Palmer. We often would carpool from Anchorage together and have the best conversations on the way up. I loved golfing with Briggs- the many times he would get so frustrated with a bad shot - one time breaking a club and the club head came spinning off almost hitting him. We would always go to Keith’s house after for a drink and peanuts and go over every hole on our scorecards. He would also never miss a volleyball game my girls played for South High. He was more than a golfing partner, he was a second father figure to me and a very very good friend. I retired and moved to Hawaii and always hoped he would travel here and play a few rounds of golf with me. I remember him making an effort to see me to say goodbye the day before I left Alaska. He has always been missed since that day and I will continue to miss him a lot.
