Richard is survived by his children, Amber Billot, Anthony Billot, Amanda Noeth, and Darla Billot, who will always cherish their memories of their father's resilience, humor, and dedication to his family.
As a respected figure in the music industry, Richard was the recipient of the prestigious 1998 "Trailblazer" King Eagle Award for his outstanding contributions to the field. His passion for music extended into his personal life as well, with a record collection featuring the likes of Elvis, George Strait, Willie Nelson, and Alabama.
Richard's love for life shone through in his diverse interests and hobbies, which ranged from woodworking, painting, and fishing, to playing dominoes and card games. He also enjoyed a variety of favorite television shows and movies, such as Happy Days, The Three Stooges, and Shrek, that exemplified his fun-loving spirit.
Greatly admired for his strength and perseverance, Richard's wild-at-heart personality was perfectly paired with his Southern charm and wit. His connection to his roots was reflected in his love for gumbo, shrimp, bread pudding, and Bailey's Irish Cream.
