Keith's obituary

Richard "Keith" Bass, 71, passed away on February 20, 2025, in Haughton, Louisiana. Born on September 15, 1953, in Fort Myers, Florida, Keith lived a life filled with kindness, curiosity, and a deep love for his family and the world around him.

Keith graduated from New Brockton High School in the class of 1971 and later attended Troy University. Throughout his life, he was known for his warm and friendly nature, always ready with a story to share. His passion for birdwatching and photography reflected his appreciation for the beauty of nature, while his interest in space exploration spoke to his boundless curiosity about the universe. He also found joy in woodworking and cooking, crafting both meals and creations with care.

A devoted member of the Knights of Columbus, Keith valued faith and community. His kindness touched many lives, and he was deeply loved by those who knew him.

Keith is survived by his mother, Nell Bass; his siblings Donald Bass (Fely), Ted Bass, Brenda Howard, (Rick) and Sara McMahan (Rick); his children April Cross (Ian), Anne Vakarietis-Day (Joe), William Bass, and Wesley Bass (Shelby); and his granddaughters Abby, Riley, Chrislynn, Honey, and Zilynn, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Bass; his wife, Sharon Bass; and his sister, Debbie Freeman.

Keith's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

May his stories continue to inspire warmth and laughter for years to come.
