Richard's obituary
We announce with great sadness, the passing of Richard "Richie" Barreras on September 4, 2023. Born in 1983, he was a treasured member of our community known for his sweet and outgoing personality, kindness, and acceptance.
Richard is survived by his mother, Emma Castro, father, Pete Barreras, brother, Michael Castro, and sister-in-law, Bianca Castro. He was predeceased by his beloved uncle, Robert Castro.
Richie had an eclectic taste in life, from his favorite food, which was literally everything, to his favorite drink, Voodoo. He loved the soundtrack of House of the Rising Sun and enjoyed watching the TV shows AGT and Shazam. His favorite films were the classics - The Godfather, Heat, Top Gun, and Bad Boys.
Richie had a deep appreciation for art in the form of music. He was an avid sports fan, rooting for the Los Angeles Rams, Dodgers, and Lakers. He enjoyed playing bowling and spending his spare time flying kites, flying drones, and driving R/C trucks.
Local spots like Red Robins and Anya's Pizza were some of his favorite places. Richard was a family man who stood up for the causes he cared about. His favorite color was blue, a hue that simply captured the depth and diversity of his character.
Some of the best lessons Richard shared were to always treat others as you wish to be treated. His proudest accomplishments include graduating from UEI and having his son, a testament to his dedication and love.
