Ricardo Henry Dias, also known as Rick, a fearless spirit who lived life full throttle, passed away on Sunday October 5th in New Bedford, MA. He was 56 years old, born February 23, 1969 in New Bedford, MA.

From the time he first climbed behind the wheel, he found freedom on the open road. Truck driving wasn’t just his job, it was a calling. The miles he traveled, behind the wheel of a Peterbuilt, carried stories, friendships, and moments that only those who’ve sped down a highway could understand.

Despite his love for the road, he took pride in buffing and shining anything with wheels. He wouldn’t consider the job done until he could see his own dirt covered reflection in a wheel or fuel tank. This was a passion that he shared side by side with his son. He also found a sense of freedom on a Harley Davidson. He loved the hum of the engine and the wind against his face. He lived life with courage, humor, and a stubborn independence that inspired everyone who knew him.

Those who loved him will remember his laugh, his grit, and the way he could face any adversity. He taught us what it means to stand strong, live boldly, and never back down from a challenge.

He is survived by his two children Ricky Dias and Alicia Swanbon, his parents Terrance and JoAnn Dias, his brother Randall Dias and wife Shannon Dias and sister Rebecca Dias, nephew Randall Dias II, his grandchildren Casalice Dias, Ella and Coltin Swanbon, and great nephew Theo Dias who will carry his stories and his fearless heart with them always.
