Ricardo's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ricardo Calderon, aged 65, from Pearland, Texas. Ricardo, known as Ricky, passed away on January 9th, 2024. His journey was one of resilience, having been a candidate for a Double Lung Transplant in 2019 after being diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Remarkably, he lived five years beyond that, cherishing each moment.
Born to Carolyn and Guadalupe Calderon on November 14th, 1958, in Houston, Texas, Ricky's spirit was marked by independence and vibrancy from the very start. His shared passion for cars with his brother, David, led him to a fulfilling 25-year career in the Automotive industry.
Choosing to retire after his transformative double lung transplant, Ricky dedicated his time to self-care. His pursuits included enjoying the company of his beloved reptiles and his faithful dog, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Ricardo is survived by his nieces, Ashley Wisnewski and Jessica Goerlich; Their husbands, Kevin Wisnewski and Jesse Goerlich; and grandchildren, Emily Goerlich and Sarah Goerlich. He is predeceased by his parents, Carolyn and Guadalupe Calderon, and brother David Calderon. His brother David sadly passed one week after Rick after a battle with Colon Cancer.
In the coming weeks, a Memorial & Celebration of Life will be held to honor and remember Ricky & David Calderon on February 17th at The Original Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen Pearland, TX from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM. The family welcomes all those who wish to celebrate their life and pay their respects during this time of reflection and remembrance at a place where the family spent many nights eating, laughing, and enjoying each others company. The immediate family will be doing a private burial the day prior and will provide details at a future date where you can pay your respects.
May Ricardo Calderon rest in eternal peace.
