Rhonda's obituary

Rhonda Sue Urbanczyk-Thompson, 57, of Hudson Florida, passed away on June 17, 2023

Rhonda was born on July 2, 1965 to parents Vivian Scholma and Ronald (Sandra) Urbanczyk in Detroit, Michigan. Rhonda graduated from Fraser High School in 1983 and went on to study Administration at Webster College.

Rhonda was a very successful project manager and ran a team for nearly 15 years at the State Department. Her peers admired and respected her. Rhonda never quit continuing education and was always striving to do her very best at her career. She holds multiple certifications and just finished her AWS practitioner certificate this year. Our family could not be more proud of her accomplishments and dedication.

In 1998 Rhonda met Andrew Thompson online playing Neverwinter Nights on AOL. Rhonda and Andrew married in December 2006. They enjoyed playing online games, watching their shows, held a seasonal Disney pass and enjoyed traveling together especially to Key West.

Rhonda was a true hobby enthusiast. In her free time she enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, making jewelry with her dear friends, crocheting, using her circuit machine, shopping, and coming to Michigan to visit her family. She loved her two cats that her and Andy share, Little Bit and Makalu.

Rhonda was predeceased by her grandparents Charles & Mary Neihoff and Edward & Virginia Urbanczyk. She is survived by her loving husband Andrew Thompson, Parents Vivian Scholma and Ronald (Sandra) Urbanczyk. Brother Ronald (Michelle) Urbanczyk II, Step Brother Daniel Wernette and Step Sister Shannon Wernette. Niece and Nephew Alyssa (Jake) Comfort and Ronald (Alexus) Urbanczyk IV. She adored her five great nieces and nephews. Natalie, Cassidy, Jaxon, Elliana, and Liam.

Our family will never understand why our beloved Rho was taken from us so soon. To say that she will be missed is an understatement.
