Rhonda Hayes, 63, a lifelong resident of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away surrounded by family on December 6, 2025. Born October 25, 1962, in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Jenny Hayes and the late James Hayes. Rhonda had a magnetic spirit—she loved to have fun, and fun always seemed to follow her wherever she went. Her children were her greatest joy, and she filled her days with the soulful sounds of 70s and 80s soul music, with Natalie Cole’s “This Will Be An Everlasting Love” holding a special place in her heart. Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Skyla Hayes, and her sister, Terry Sowell. She is survived by her brother, James F. Hayes (known as Jimmy Joe); her sons, Deven Hayes and Sterling Hayes; her daughter, Quiana Hayes; her devoted daughter-in-law, Melanie Dorsey; her granddaughter, Devan J. Hayes; her nieces, Destiny Robertson and Natasha Dennis; and many other loving family members and friends.
