Rhett's obituary
Rhett "Woody" Woodhall, aged 36, passed away on January 12, 2025, in Groton, CT after succumbing to a lifelong battle with type one diabetes. Born on March 15, 1988, Rhett was known for his kind soul, sense of adventure, and his exceptional sense of humor. He had a lifelong love for music, cats, fantasy, and video games.
At the time of death Rhett was working at Cumberland Farms in Groton, where his colleagues appreciated his wit and friendly nature. Beyond his work, Rhett was deeply passionate about playing guitar, immersing himself in video games, and exploring various musicians' life stories. He was known by those who loved him for his bold sense of style and ability to pull off any haircut. Rhett was the perfect embodiment of the 90s. Those who were blessed to know Rhett were sent the funniest memes and videos on a regular basis. Conspiracy theories and politics kept him engaged and often sparked lively discussions among his friends and family.
Surviving Rhett are his mother, Deborah Miller; sisters, Mikayla Miller and Heaven Zierenberg; and nieces, Eden, Esther, and Judith Zierenberg; and uncle David Woodhall. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Dolores Woodhall, and his uncle, Steven Woodhall.
Rhett spent most of his free time with his three best friends, who he had been close to since early elementary school. William Noonan, Sean "Panda" Manning, and Bruce Lee Jr. had been like brothers to Rhett. One memory in particular that Rhett cherished was seeing The Red Hot Chili Peppers in concert with his friends.
Rhett's life was a testament to his ability to bring laughter and joy to those around him, even during the most challenging of times. Rhett would want those who miss him to remember him and laugh when they saw a good meme, heard a RHCP song, or played an old favorite video game. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
