Reymundo Ortiz Sr., born on February 24, 1958, in Fremont, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, in Toledo, Ohio, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 66 years old. Reymundo spent his formative years in Fremont, where he developed a lifelong love for fishing, a passion that brought him peace and joy throughout his life. Known for his keen eye and appreciation for the unique, he was a frequent visitor to thrift stores, always on the lookout for hidden treasures. Music was another of Reymundo's great loves, providing a soundtrack to his life and a source of comfort and inspiration. His life was marked by resilience and strength, qualities that shone through even in the face of adversity. His warm spirit and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be remembered for his unwavering love, his infectious laughter, and his ability to find beauty in the simplest of things. Reymundo is survived by his beloved children Veronica Ortiz, Reymundo (Heather) Ortiz Jr. and Natalia Ortiz who will continue to honor him by living with the same kindness, sense of humor and passion he exemplified. He also left behind 4 beautiful grandchildren and siblings Ventura “Bongo” Ortiz, Maria (Manuel)Mendoza, Alma (Ismael) Gutierrez, Alvina (Ben) Lopez. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate Reymundo's life and the undeniable mark he left on the world.
