Joseph was an incredibly kind and selfless man, and I feel fortunate our families shared so many dinners and holidays together over the years. He had a gift for conversation and storytelling, and made space for others to be included.  I looked forward to his Christmas poems each year, and I loved how thoughtfully he acknowledged and respected everyone’s traditions, including ours.  He was very encouraging to Jacob in his love of poetry—something we’ll both remember.  Above all, it was clear how deeply he loved Mary Anne, Rachel, Emma, and the entire family, with great devotion. We are all lucky to have met him.  He will be remembered fondly.
