Background

Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Rev. Melvin Parris, Sr. knows that he had a devoted love and passion for Jesus Christ. His number one priority was to fulfill the Great Commission of reaching people for the Kingdom of God. This devotion influenced his decision to start his non-profit organization “Build and Rebuild Restoration Ministries” with the sole purpose of restoring the family by mentoring men returning home from prison.

He was a licensed and ordained minister dedicated to this calling for more than 30 years, and positively impacted the lives of a countless number of individuals.

In addition to his personal sense of responsibility to build God’s family, Melvin was committed to his personal family as a loyal husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a best friend, confidant, and main provider for the love of his life – his wife Dewana Parris.

He experienced a health emergency, which led to his transition into heaven on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 7:46 am. As a result, so many have expressed their sadness and sincere condolences; as well as encouragement that Melvin is dancing with his Savior Jesus Christ in paradise.

His family is grateful for those who’ve called to inquire about how they may assist during this time. After much thought, this “Ever Loved” Account was created to help cover the cost of funeral arrangements and other unexpected expenses.
