Donald's obituary
Rev. Donald R. “Preacher Man” Lee, 82, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025. He was born in Gastonia, North Carolina, on August 15, 1942, to the late Joseph A. and Eula Mae Lee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Donald Raymond “Ray” Lee; brothers, Billy Joe Lee and Jerry M. Lee; sisters, Josephine (Homer) Glisson, Annie Laura (William) Collins, Carolene (Ed) Johnson, and Bobbie Jean Smith; half-brothers, Otis Lee and Fred Lee; and granddaughter, Caroline Joy Lee.
Rev. Donald was a pastor for 37 years and evangelized for 7 years, 5 before retirement and 2 after. He pastored S.E. Atlanta Church of God in Atlanta, Georgia, Prince Albert Church of God in Dayton, Ohio, Tweed Chapel Church of God in Dublin, Georgia, Brown Springs Church of God in Buena Vista, Georgia, West Main St. Church of God in Swainsboro, Georgia, South Mt. Zion COG in Colquitt, Georgia, Screven Church of God in Screven, Georgia, and College St. Church of God in Calhoun, Georgia.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margie J. Lee; son, Richard (Stephanie) Lee; daughter-in-love, Melissa “Pokey” (Kevin) Radford Brown; half-brothers, Danny (Elaine) Lee and Joseph (Marsha) Lee; half-sisters, Mona Maney, Jean (Ken) Nichols, Cathy (Rick) Miller, and Donna (Steve) Cole; grandchildren, Deanna (Devon) Lee Hudson, Timothy Lee, and Katelyn “Katie” Lee; in-laws, Bonnie Rhoden, Jackie Lee, and Grace Lee; many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends he considered family.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Calhoun Community Church.
A memorial service will follow on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:00 PM from Calhoun Community Church with Pastor Jerry Rice and Bishop Sonny Wilkes officiating.
