Reuben's obituary
Reuben Strope, 93, of Hesperia, CA, passed away on September 11, 2022 after suffering a stroke in July.
Reuben was born in 1929 to Reuben T and Anna E Strope. After graduating from high school he was drafted into the military. After his time in the army he used his GI Bill to study Electronics Engineering.
After graduation, he landed his first job as a Electronics Engineer for General Dynamics in Pomona, CA for 32 years. In 1951, he met Patricia M Field, and they wed in 1953, going on to have 4 children, Karen Ann, Loreen Ann, Sandra Christine, and Byron Peter.
Reuben and Patricia later divorced in 1987 and he then married Tricia A DelTurco in June of 1987 and they moved to Hesperia, CA in 1990. After they both retired they enjoyed camping and traveling with friends, running marathons and gardening. Reuben built a metal shop and wood shop in his garage where he enjoyed carving Intarsia wood art. Reuben was predeceased by his lovely wife Tricia, both his parents as well as his first wife Patricia. He is survived by his 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be sent to Wounded Worrier Project. Reuben's ashes will be laid to rest with his wife Tricia in a private family ceremony at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Apple Valley, Ca.
