Retha's obituary

Retha Sherline Bishofberger, 75, previously of Osgood Indiana, passed away November 21, 2024. Retha was born on April 25, 1949 to the parents of Virginia Collins and Jesse Mains in Las Vegas, Nevada before relocating to Indiana where Retha graduated from Milan High school.

Retha spent a large portion of her life traveling as a truck driver before settling down and driving a school bus. She was a woman of God who loved volunteering at her church West Fork Baptist. Her biggest passions were gardening, collecting movies and angels, helping others, driving for the Amish, crocheting, and taking care of her dogs.

Most importantly Retha loved being with her family, which included every person she met. There was never a moment in her life that she wouldn’t find a way to help another, even if it meant going without herself. She had enough heart to love the world but special love for her family and the kids who grew up around her. This love drove Retha to never know a stranger and led to her being “Grandma” to everyone.

Retha was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband Harry Bishofberger; parents Virginia

Collins and Jesse Mains; son Michael Collins; brothers Garen Mains and Danny Mains. She is survived by her sister Penny (Roy) Collins; daughters Michelle McDonald and Melissa Smith; grandsons Jesse (Julie) McDonald and Christopher Smith; granddaughters Holli (Troy) Napier, Stephanie (Ryan) Combs, Candice Davidson-Abner, Katie Leach; Nieces and nephews who she loved as her own and multiple great grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date set by the family to remember and celebrate this loving woman who was cherished by many.
