Background
Gloria L. Fox has spent her life committed to the elimination of racism. She has been a strong advocate for human, social and economic development issues for those whose voices needed to be heard. Her distinctive record for fighting issues that address basic human needs has only been surpassed by her work in advocating for better access and delivery of health care services on behalf of those who have had the least opportunity to obtain these services. Some of her collaborators in social justice work outside of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts were strong leaders such as Former President Nelson Mandela, Congressman John Lewis, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and also includes her colleagues of the Massachusetts State Legislature, “The People’s House” as she affectionately called the State House. (insert...) The Fox family are considering many options to carry on Rep. Foxs legacy of advocacy and support for women, children and people of color by creating partnerships and policy to support her communities in areas related to racism, housing, health care, health equity, prison reform and other social justice and social determinants of health and health equity areas.
