Renée's obituary
Renée “Riri” Emiliana Perez passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2021, after a tragic accident that took her from us far too soon.
Born on February 20, 2020, to Jon Paul Perez and Lucia Perez, Renée was a radiant, wide-eyed soul from the very beginning. As a baby, she was joyful, curious, and always reaching for the light—whether it was sunlight through the window or the sparkles on her mother’s earrings. She had an early love for music and movement, often dancing through the house with her curls bouncing and her laughter echoing like a song.
Renée’s favorite activities included painting with her tiny hands, dressing up in princess costumes, chasing butterflies in the garden, and cuddling with her beloved plush bunny. She adored storytime and had an incredible way of bringing light into every room she entered. Her joy was pure, her love unconditional, and her presence unforgettable.
Our family was not prepared for the loss of Renée or the suddenness of her passing. We are heartbroken and will feel her absence for the rest of our lives. She was the gentlest, most luminous soul—a light in the lives of all who knew her.
Renée will always be remembered by her loving parents, Jon Paul and Lucia Perez; her maternal grandmother Mar Barnes; her paternal grandparents Jorge and Debbie Perez; and the memory of her late maternal grandfather, Jean-Luc Nobili. She is also deeply cherished by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends who adored her.
A funeral mass was held at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Miami, Florida, where Renée was honored with love, prayer, and deep gratitude for the beautiful life she lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Renée’s name to March of Dimes, an organization dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of mothers and babies.
Though her time on Earth was brief, the impact of Renée’s spirit is immeasurable. She leaves behind tiny footprints—but they left an everlasting imprint on our hearts.
