Renee's obituary
When Renee started her family she dedicated her life to being a hardworking mother. While her husband at the time was in the armed services she worked full time jobs and took care of her kids while he was oversees. After the separation between her and Tapeni, Renee dedicated her life to God, her children and her grandchildren. Renee later went on to receive her Associates in International Business from Remington College where she was so proud that after all these years she had the courage to go back to school and further her education. She graduated with honors and perfect attendance. While attending college she held a full time job at Safeway as a meat wrapper. She held a lot of roles at Safeway and worked her way to Assistant Store Manager. Renee had a passion for helping her family and others, supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others and impacted many lives. Renee was a passionate human being if she wasn't working hard at Safeway, she could be found encouraging, helping others in need and helping with ministries of different churches on Kaua'i. She had the biggest heart for people and was a perfect example of God's love and grace. Our mother was a mother to many of those she didn't birth but loved and raised as her own. The past 12 years Renee lived between Kaua'i and Washington so she can spend her time with all her grandchildren and took care of her ill father and ill step mother until they both passed. She loved Jesus and her family more than anything. Our mother was blessed beyond measure. She may have not had a lot of material things but she had the love of her Savior, her children and grandchildren that was unmatched. WE are her legacy. She was confident in her salvation. Every time we spoke around the dinning table and reflected on what we were thankful for, she would always say, "Salvation." We know she has a crown full of jewels in Heaven. We miss her greatly. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Navas, step mother, Florence Navas, mother, Margaret Desilva, step father Raymond Desilva, sister June Egami and her grandson Daniel-Tei Taimi. She is survived by her daughters. Melanie (Tai - deceased) Taimi, Valarie (Laakea) Cabreira, Noel (Christopher) Ferrer and Anna Hunkin , her grandson's Kiliona, CJ, Jedidah, Zechariah, Caleb, Thaddeus and Ethan, her granddaughter's Cristiana, Keyanna, Kalea, Cristel, and Kristin, a great granddaughter Leianna-Rose, her sisters Joann (Ernest) Puaoi, Elizabeth, Bernadette (Steve) Cline and brother Joseph Navas.
