Rene's obituary

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Rene Bollen on March 9, 2020. Rene was born on January 30, 1934 in Ans-Liege, Belgium to Jean and Marie. He was the oldest of 5 siblings. In 1961, Rene, his wife, Fanny, and daughter, Jeannine, packed their bags and moved to Southern California to pursue the American Dream. In 1963, they welcomed a second daughter, Christine, and their family was complete. Rene and Fanny were married for 47 years until she passed in 2004. He was the beloved "Papa" to his 5 grandchildren; Nicole, Katherine, Scott, Michelle, and Kevin as well as great grandfather to Russell and Weston. Rene was a devoted Catholic, passionate, hardworking family man, leading with quiet confidence as a father, friend, husband, grandfather, and neighbor. His passions included his beloved farm in Orange Park Acres where he lived peacefully for the last 16 years tending to his animals and spending time with his family every chance he could. Rene was a hero to some, a mentor to many and a dear friend to all throughout his 86 well-spent years of life. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at 10am on Friday, March 20th at Pacific View Mortuary & Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Rene's name to St. Jude's Children Hospital, an organization held near and dear to Rene's heart, using the link: http://giftfunds.stjude.org/R…
