Reina's obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Reina Rivera Gonzalez, who left us on March 23, 2025. Born on January 3, 1975, her life was one filled with love, laughter, and faith that touched those around her. She graduated with a bachelor’s in English in Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico.
Reina was much beloved by her family. Her devotion to her parents, Luz Esther Gonzalez and Juan Rivera, was unwavering and her bond with her siblings, Mariluz Amaro and Carlos Rivera, was strong. Reina deeply loved her nieces, Mari Maldonado, Elizabeth Brown, Ashley Rivera and Carla Rivera and her nephews, Carlos Amaro Jr. and Abel Rivera, and she guided them with her wisdom, grace and compassion.
A regular attendee at the North East Christian Church, Reina was known for her warm and loving personality. Her laughter was infectious, lightening up even the most somber of rooms. Reina believed in love above all else and her life was a testament to this belief. She taught us to love everyone, regardless of their circumstance, and her open, accepting nature was a shining example for us all.
Reina was an achiever. Among her many accomplishments, she graduated from college, became an ordained minister and worked tirelessly for the children at CREST. Despite these milestones, she was most proud of the love and kindness that defined her life. She believed that these were her greatest accomplishments and her legacy.
It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to Reina, but her indomitable spirit will live on in each of us. She will be profoundly missed by her family, her church community, and the countless lives she touched. Truly, the world is a bit dimmer without her radiance.
