Regina's obituary
Regina Dawn Stevens
July 2, 1964 – December 2, 2025
Regina Dawn Stevens, age 61, of Yuba City, California, passed away on December 2, 2025, at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael, California.
Regina was born on July 2, 1964, in San Fernando, California, to Helen Pearline Williams and Lewis Thomas Williams. She was the youngest of four children and the only daughter. Regina was known for her strong personality, unmistakable laugh, and a presence that could fill a room.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Pearline Williams; her brother, John Williams; and her husband, John Stevens.
Regina is survived by her daughters, Audra Peterson- Williams and Jennifer Ybarra, her sons-in-law Joel Mead and Eric Ybarra, and her beloved grandsons, Brayden and Carter Ybarra. She is also survived by her father Lewis Thomas Williams, her brothers, Stephen Williams and Jeff Williams, her stepmother, Nancy Williams, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of family and friends whose lives were touched by her presence.
Regina dedicated over 15 years of service to Sutter North, where she was a familiar and dependable presence. Outside of work, she had a deep love for animals—especially horses and dogs—and never hesitated to care for any stray animal that crossed her path. Her compassion for animals reflected the size of her heart.
Those who knew Regina remember her as someone who loved fiercely and gave freely, often putting others before herself. She had a generous spirit, a sharp sense of humor, and a laugh that could be recognized from another room. Regina’s life, like many, included personal struggles, but at her core she was a person who cared deeply and meant well, even when life became complicated.
A graveside service will be held on January 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Sierra View Memorial Park, 4900 Olive Avenue, Olivehurst, California 95961. Services will follow at Walnut Avenue Community Center, 1431 Walnut Avenue, Yuba City, California 95993.
