Happy Birthday Regina~ Not only are you celebrating your mutual day with your sister Mary, your loving husband Gene is there with you too. We miss you all. ❤️🎂❤️
It fills my heart to read the stories, comments, and see the photos that everyone has posted. Many of Aunt Regina's family and friends fondly remember her cooking, but the first thing I think of is her laughter. Her good nature was contageous and would fill the air! Aunt Regina was a kind, generous soul, and we are blessed to have had her in our lives.

I was so saddened to hear about my Aunt Reg's passing.  I remember her as a strong lady with a heart of gold and a soft spot for family.  My cousins and and my uncle are held in my thoughts and my heart.  Sending you all lots of love and healing energy, as you find your way through this profound loss.  Several have mentioned my aunt as being an excellent cook.  One of my favorites was her anise toast. (Her homemade biscottis puts the pre-made packaged ones you see in the store to shame!)

We are the Brices' across the street neighbors in Parks AZ: we loved them from the moment we met them! We will dearly miss Regina as she was full of fun and good cheer no matter what else was going on in her life. She loved cooking special meals and inviting neighbors over to share them. When I was single I especially appreciated sharing Christmas and Easter meals with Regina and Gene. Regina's garden was another love. She brought over a bunch of parsnips from her garden for me one day and I thought "What in the world am I going to do with parsnips?" I Googled parsnip recipes and found one that was for a Maple Parsnip Cake: it turned out to be one of the yummiest cakes I ever made. I cut it in half and gave half to the Brices: we had a lot of cake. John and I loved sitting on the Brices front porch for a happy hour and catching up on what was happening in the neighborhood. The Brices turned us on to El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant in Flagstaff (see photo). Whenever we dined there with the Brices, we were treated like royalty, as they were very much regulars. When Regina's birthday came around on September 8, it was usually celebrated with Jayne our other neighbor( who shares the same birthday) at an ice cream social at neighbors Marlo & Eddie's. One year I made them a fake birthday cake (a cardboard box frosted with chocolate frosting): you should have heard Regina scream when she tried to cut into that cake! Regina had the best laugh, I can still hear it. She made you feel so good. And she gave the best hugs ever!

I would like to share a few memories of Regina. We all know what an excellent cook she was. The first time I had dinner at their house, on Langmuir, she made her delicious lasagna. Ironically the last time we saw her a year and a half ago, she made spaghetti sauce to send home with us.

We enjoyed many Saturday’s with the Brice family while they lived on Estepa in Tujunga. Of course that usually included staying for dinner.

Another memory is donut Sundays at OLL.  Regina and a group of helpers started donut Sunday once a month as a fund raiser. They would start baking at 3 in the morning. Boy were they yummy!

Along with cooking she also enjoyed gardening. She was very proud of the hanging plants and flowers she grew. A few years ago she was excited about having a green house built on their property in Parks. I believe Gene and a neighbor put it together.

Above all, her family was most important. Her love for Gene, her children, and grandchildren is the truest form of love there is. The last afternoon we spent with Gene and Regina was spent reminiscing and hearing how proud of all of them they are.

May you Rest In Peace, you will be missed by many.

Love, Lora~

I was ten years old when we moved next to the Anctil home. What a large, wonderful family. My brother, Dan was friends with Jim and I was able to follow after them. Gene began dating Regina and she became a part of our family after that. Many years, many memories - sixty-three years later and I learned a lot from Gene and Regina, watching their family grow. They were kind and generous to Kathy and me. Reg was an amazing cook and a loyal, loving Grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all.
