Rebekah (Choo)'s obituary

With deep sorrow, we share the passing of Rebekah (Choo) Krupp, who left this world peacefully on January 2, 2026, following a five-year journey with cancer. Over these years, she faced her illness with quiet strength that filled our lives with grace. Until recently, she experienced few major symptoms, allowing her and her family to live fully and intentionally. Her family is deeply grateful for the care and compassion of the many doctors, nurses, and medical professionals who supported her through this time. She overcame pancreatic cancer before ultimately succumbing to lung cancer, surrounded by the love of her husband, children, and close family.

Rebekah lived a quiet and meaningful life shaped by cross-cultural experience and deep care for those around her. A South Korean woman who made her home in central Ohio, she built a life grounded in family, faith, and community after marrying her husband, Gregory Krupp, who was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio.

Rebekah was known for her warm, gentle presence, her creativity, and her steady dedication to Christ. She approached life with humility and kindness, touching others not through grand gestures but through everyday acts of care and sincerity. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the extended church community at Vineyard Columbus, Crosspoint Westerville, and the Korean Cultural Center in Columbus, Ohio.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Asian Fine Art from a respected university in Seoul, Korea, reflecting her lifelong appreciation for art and culture. She loved her children, Esther Krupp and Nathan Krupp, and remained closely connected to the rhythms of central Ohio life, including Tree of Life Christian Schools and The Ohio State University, both of which were meaningful presences in her family and community.

Over the past five years, Rebekah and her family created lasting memories together. She traveled to South Korea, where she visited family, honored ancestors, walked along the seaside, and climbed mountains. She traveled to Hawaii and other special destinations, held her own solo art exhibition, and even taught art at the Korean Cultural Center in Columbus, Ohio. Through it all, she remained rooted in creativity, curiosity, and love, living a beautiful and full life surrounded by her husband, children, and extended family.

Rebekah was a respected and warmhearted employee at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio, and later at Grace Polaris Church in Westerville, Ohio, where she was valued for her reliability, kindness, and positive spirit. She was also a beloved art teacher at the Korean Cultural Center in Columbus, Ohio, where she shared her creativity, cultural knowledge, and love of art with the community.

Rebekah’s legacy lives on in the care she showed others, the family she nurtured, and the life she built bridging cultures with quiet grace.
