Rebecca's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rebecca Turner on August 16, 2023. Born on December 9, 1963, Rebecca lived a life filled with joy, laughter, and inspiration, touching many hearts along her journey. Her loss will be felt deeply by all who were blessed to know her, especially those who were moved by her wit, wisdom, and passion for life.

Known for her vivacious personality and vibrant sense of humor, Rebecca was always the life of the party. Her sense of humor was infectious and her wit kept everyone on their toes. Rebecca was someone who truly knew how to live life to the fullest.

More than just a witty woman, Rebecca was also highly accomplished in her career. She was a woman of many talents. Among her noteworthy accomplishments, she was revered for her work as a photographer and was a well-known artist in our community. With her creativity and eye for beauty in everyday life, she captured the hearts of many through her photographs and unique art pieces that were a testament to her artistic genius.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Dwayne Turner and baby brother. She is survived by her mother, Ruby Turner, 3 daughters: Sheena (John) Johnson Gehring, Jessica Mathis, and Tamika Baldwin, as well as her sister Patricia Clark and many grandchildren and neices/nephews.

Rebecca also leaves behind an army of inspired students who will carry forward her teachings and love for art. Rebecca was not just an artist, but a mentor, friend, and guiding light who believed in the power of art to transform lives. Their creations will serve as moving testaments to Rebecca's influence, her talent, and her passionate spirit.

Rebecca's life was a testament to the adage that laughter is the best medicine. Her spirit, humor, and passion will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew her. As we bid her farewell, we hold onto the beautiful memories she has gifted us, celebrating a life lived with laughter, love, and art.

A memorial will be held Friday September 1st in Benton TN at the banquet barn behind Ocoee Outdoors (corner of 64 and 314) from 5-7. All who knew Rebecca and would like to join us in her celebration of life may attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to our local no kill animal shelters as they held a special place in her heart and home over the past few years with all of her beloved furry rescues.
