We regretfully announce the passing of Rebecca Thurmond of South Charleston, WV on May 31, 2023. Rebecca was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.

Our mother, Rebecca, was one of the strongest/most courageous/kindest women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her as the head of the family. Rebecca was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

Rebecca was predeceased by her mother and father June and John Thurmond, brother Daryl Thurmond, sister Alice Nawas, niece Allison Nunley. She is survived by her children Johnny Vantassle, Elsa White, Gary White jr. Nicholas White, Amber Halliwell and Brand Smith & husband Tj Smith.  Her faithful granddaughter Kristin Bender along with her husband Andy Bender. She had many amazing grandchildren and great grandchildren that loved her unconditionally.
