Rebecca's obituary

Rebecca Miller, born on April 3, 1952, passed away on August 4, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, warmth, and deep devotion to her family and friends. She was a spirited and resilient fighter who embraced life fully and inspired those around her with her unwavering courage and love.

Rebecca grew up on a farm in Iowa City, Iowa and attended the University of Iowa, before settling in South Florida to attend law school at the University of Miami. She excelled in her career as a powerhouse real estate attorney helping to shape Miami and Miami Beach's changing skyline in the 1980s and '90s.

Most importantly, she was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She dedicated her time to the PTO of American Heritage School, where her son, Tyler, attended, and later supported others through their journeys with cancer, all while fighting her own battle with multiple myeloma. This battle did not define her life however, and instead, she will be remembered as a devoted friend to many, a lifelong learner, and an inspiration to all who knew her.

Rebecca's generosity, laughter, and determination touched everyone she met. She never missed a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or other milestone, and sent dozens of greeting cards each month to her family and friends. She spent her last full day of life texting heartfelt messages to friends and neighbors, preparing oatmeal for her husband, Dale, and baking a lemon cake for the doctor she was scheduled to see in the coming days.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of these family members and friends, and in the countless lives she enriched simply by being herself. She is survived by her loving husband, Dale Webner of Weston, Florida; her cherished son and daughter-in-law, Tyler Webner and Diana Rabbani, of San Diego, California; her step-daughter, Kelly Webner, and partner, Peter Goodrich, of Miami, Florida; and her step-daughter, Jamie Katz, husband, Benjamin Katz, and beloved granddaughters, Poppy and Colette "Coco" Katz, of South Miami, Florida; all of whom brought such joy to her life. She also leaves behind her siblings, Gary Moss of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, Glenn Moss of Davidsonville, Maryland, Rachel Moss and Melissa Moss of Iowa City, Iowa, all of whom she held dear. She was predeceased by her parents, Eldon and Joanne Moss of Iowa City, Iowa.

Rebecca fought hard in her battle against multiple myeloma and long outlived her initial prognosis, surviving for 14 years thanks to the help of her wonderful multiple myeloma specialists, Dr. Robert Orlowski of the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas; Dr. Carl Ola Landgren of the Sylvester Myeloma Institute in Miami, Florida; and Dr. Chieh-Lin Fu of the Oncology Department, Cleveland Clinic, Weston, Florida.

A Celebration of Life for Rebecca's family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:30 am with reception to follow at the DoubleTree Hotel, 13400 W. Sunrise Blvd., Sunrise, FL 33323. Additional details about the Celebration of Life are available at https://everloved.com/life-of…. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in honor of Rebecca's spirit and legacy.

We will miss you and we love you, Rebecca.
