I had no idea how accomplished Rebecca was. She was a light.

Competitive Warrior & Humble Princess - In one of Eva’s favorite b-day memories, Rebecca competed intensely to win musical chairs at the party. After beating everyone while wearing her princess velvet dress, Rebecca touched her cheek in blushing humility—capturing the unique sweetness of her one-of-a-kind soul. Our hearts reach toward Heaven, receiving comfort over the Lobachs and longing for eternal reunion with Rebecca, who was born and now lives fully with an angel heart of goodness.

I did not know CPT Lobach, but I do feel called to protect her. I am so sorry for the hurtful words that have been said, and the attack on her memory and credibility. Honored to have served alongside her.

Rebecca gave 💯 percent in everything she did. She was capable of accomplishing anything, yet she chose to serve, serve her country and ultimately Jesus. Her finest quality, in my opinion, was inclusivity. She loved people and placed them in high regard. I know she will be greatly missed. Praying for David and MaryLee and the family.

"As some people journey through life, they leave footprints- of kindness and love, courage and compassion, joy and faith. Even when they are gone, the trail they've left behind continues to inspire us. Praying God will comfort and care for you while you celebrate the legacy that lives on."* For Rebecca-Thank you for your service and commitment to excellence. To her family and friends- Our hearts are grieved and saddened with you in this tragedy. We continue to pray for you all.

The first time I saw Rebecca at Ft Meyer, she was shopping and I thought, shes so pretty! Then the next day, I ran into her at the White House lockerroom on her first day there. I asked her if she was at Ft Meyer the other day and she said yes and laughed. She was one of those beautiful people inside and out- you could catch her joy even if you were a stranger. Throughout our time at WH she was always such a joy. Shes such a light. I miss her!

She had every gift, but length of years. We will all miss out on how she would have shared those gifts with the world. Peace be with Rebecca and those who loved her.

Rebecca (or "Bex", for some reason the unique nickname I reserved for her) and I have too many memories for me to possibly recount - we've known each other for 15 years of our lives, since meeting on a sweaty middle school basketball court. I remember, even at that first awkward practice, liking her and wanting to somehow become her friend (though how, my poorly developed brain wasn't sure - we would figure it out though). We started as fellow athletes - each others' neighbor on the bench and in locker rooms, practice/workout partners, lovers of the game (and, for awhile, mirrored jersey numbers) - and slowly became friends off the court as well. Our friendship was not linear, showy, or even perhaps super obvious (to the end, we sucked at taking photographic evidence of us in the same room together) - but became one of the most endearing and unique ones I could've hoped for.
The list of struggles we've faced, topics we've had heart-to-hearts on, and growth we've celebrated together is equally long as that of our times together (and belongs in a proper eulogy), but I will forever hold her as my simultaneous equal and inspiration. We were, and are, many things to each other - teammates, childhood mates, besties, lovers of frogs/nature/baking/books/therapeutic growth, fellow federal servants, compassionate leaders, future doctors, each others' biggest hype man, seekers of truths & healing - but chief amongst them all, I remain her devoted friend. I hope to fulfill her legacy (in the many shared journeys we planned to travel together), and see her again someday. I miss you deeply, my dear Bex - I'm glad our last words to each other on this earth were "I love you", and am grateful to have had the time I got with you. <3
