Becky's obituary
Rebecca Almy Graves, 75, of Clemmons, North Carolina passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025 with her husband and daughter by her side.
Rebecca (Becky) was born in Front Royal, Virginia to Richard and Mary Frances Almy on February 24, 1949. She grew up in Front Royal, VA before moving to Charlottesville, VA and Staunton, VA then settling in Clemmons, NC in 1987. She worked for Wells Fargo (previously Wachovia) for over 30 years prior to retirement.
She is fondly remembered for her fun-loving spirit, her style, her love of all things sparkly and her champagne taste for the finer things in life. There was always a twinkle in her eye and a playfulness about her…you never knew when she would crack a joke. She loved big and had a generous spirit. She was a fantastic cook who always enjoyed trying new recipes and reading the latest issue of Bon Appetit. She also loved to be outside, particularly in her garden. She always had cold hands but the warmest heart! Her love of animals showed through with the way she tended the birds and squirrels in the yard. Strays seemed to find their way to her doorstep, somehow always knowing her big, kind heart was there to welcome them home. She absolutely adored her grandsons and always came to visit with treats in hand. She will be greatly missed by us all and eternally loved.
Becky is preceded in death by her brother, Richie; sister, Hale; and her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Mark David Graves of Clemmons, NC; her daughters, Elizabeth Townsend Niten of Winston Salem, NC and Jessica Jennings Nguyen (Chris) of Belmont, NC; sister Elizabeth “Liz” Davis; grandsons Vaughn Nguyen and Liam Nguyen; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at eleven o’clock in the morning at Hebron Lutheran Church, 899 Blankenbaker Rd, Madison, VA 22727
