Mrs. Rebecca Marie Everson, 86, of Rochester NY, died Saturday, January 3, 2026 at her residence.

Rebecca was born on September 4, 1939, in Syracuse New York to Lawrence William Clancy and Helen Margaret Maher. She was one of fourteen children.

Rebecca was proceeded in death by her parents and all of her siblings, her husband Luther Everson and her daughter Louise (Daniel) Clarke. She leaves behind; daughters, Grace Contreras, Christine (James) Bigness, Margaret (Robert) Lewis, son Charles (Lori) Owens; stepchildren, Luther (Deborah) Everson Jr, Douglas (Lisa) Everson, Keith Payne, Robin (Joe) DeGray, Sherri Hayes, Jacqui Scott, Oneta Marks,  Danitra Everson and Centina Everson; grandchildren Michael Ziemniak, Darryl Mika, Jennifer Mika, Stephanie Santiago, Lynda Wheat, Amy Lewis, Jennifer O’Conner, Lisa Lewis, Mark Nellons, LaTeia Kizer, A’vey Owens and Quintin Owens; 16 great grandchildren; over 50 nieces and nephews.

Rebecca’s life was marked by her deep passion for family. Being the youngest of her siblings she enjoyed a care free spirit. She loved to laugh and do certain jesters to make you laugh. Her smile was infectious. She was a fierce protector of those she loved and cared for. Unapologetic. Her hugs were soft and warm hearted and you knew she loved you if she tugged your hair when she hugged you. 

Psalm 34:18 "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

Revelation 21:4 "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain."
