Becky's obituary
Rebecca “Becky” Evelyn (Hertle) Anderson, age 87, of Plymouth, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, surrounded by all her children, grandchildren, and most of her extended family. Her final wish was simple and profound: to be able to communicate with her loved ones. That wish was beautifully fulfilled.
Born on June 2, 1938, in Austin, Minnesota, Becky lived a life marked by unwavering faith, quiet strength, and deep love.
Her faith journey began early -- memorizing Bible verses through the Rural Bible Crusade. She remembers reciting hundreds of verses to her schoolteacher and earning her very first Bible when she was 9 years old. As a young teen, Becky wanted to be a vacation Bible school teacher, so she and a friend volunteered to travel to Elkton and other small towns with American Sunday School Union. Becky and her friend were hosted by families whose children attended the Bible school, forming lasting bonds rooted in shared faith and hospitality.
Becky’s faith bore spiritual fruit in every season of life—through sacrificial and unconditional love, joy in trials, peace that surpassed understanding, immense patience, deep kindness, and a lifelong pursuit of self-control. Her spiritual depth shaped generations and touched countless lives. Becky faced her death like a Christian—at peace, unafraid, and joyfully anticipating her new life with Jesus, her loved ones who went before her, and the saints of Heaven.
She found joy in the beauty of creation—praying along walking paths, tending her garden, taking carefree drives through the countryside, or paddling a canoe with Paul, their children, and grandchildren. She was gifted with her hands, creating countless garments and ornaments for her family, and she loved a good puzzle. Like her father Carl, she had a special love for trees and wood, often restoring heirlooms and crafting beautiful wooden pieces for those she loved.
Becky enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a Radiology Technician, serving her patients and community with compassion and skill.
Becky is survived by her devoted husband of over 65 years, Paul J. Anderson, and their children: Gretchen Larson, Sarah Anderson, Lisa Anderson, and Paul J. Anderson II. Her legacy of faith and love continues through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, neighbors, and cherished friends. Also surviving her are her brothers Clint Hertle and Wayne (William) Hertle.
She was preceded in death by her mother Evelyn (Tucker) Hertle, her father Carl Theodore Hertle, and brother Dale Hertle.
