She was preceded in death by her parents William James Watson and Martha Dudley Liggon. She was also preceded in death by her beloved brother Mark William Watson.
She is survived by her daughters Tracey Lynn Cole, Jennifer Basile (Ryan) and Amanda Woods (Ernest). Her grandchildren Jacob Woods, Bridgit Ashley Johnson, Elizabeth Woods and Zachary Johnson. Her devoted sister-in-law Bettye Watson, two nieces Susan Martin and Brandy Porterfield (Chris) and a grand-nephew Layne Porterfield.
Becky was a gentle, kind, caring, creative and detail oriented person. This was displayed in many ways from the thoughtfully curated gifts she gave to friends and family, to her love of the most vulnerable and through the lense of her camera where she photographed beautiful scenes of nature, her daughters and grandchildren.
She also had a passion for creatures great and small. This likely started with her childhood dog “Teddy”. At a young age Becky enjoyed watching wildlife programs and visiting zoos and wildlife parks whenever possible. She could educate you on many exotic animals. However, she had a lifelong love affair with elephants, she admired their strength and gentleness.
Becky was a “foodie” long before the term was popular and she loved to enjoy a good meal with family and friends. Her favorite chef was her daughter Mandy. She particularly loved the holidays when Mandy prepared feast for the family to enjoy.
Becky dearly and deeply loved her family and was grateful to be able to live with Mandy and Ernie for almost twenty years. Their generosity ensured Becky could see her grandkids grow and enjoy being close to family for many years.
Although, we would have loved to have enjoyed our mom for many more years here with us, that was not the Lord’s plan. We grieve and yet rejoice that she is home.
We are grateful to The Hospice of the Piedmont and our Aunt Bettye Watson for their love, care and attention.
Per Becky’s request there was no service.
