Our beloved Rebecca Ann (Toerpe) Vela joined her heavenly family on January 26th, 2023. She was born on October 15th, 1977 in Manitowoc WI. She was the youngest of three to James and the late Patricia Toerpe. Becky attended Lincoln High School and graduated in 1996. She later went on to receive her associates degree at the University of Wisconsin in 2011.

Becky was loving, vibrant, and empathetic with a passion for caring for others. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children embracing every moment with them and she absolutely loved being a grandma. Some of her many hobbies included gardening, thrifting, solving puzzles and collecting various unique items.

She is survived by her father James (Marcia) Toerpe; two brothers James Toerpe Jr. and Mark (Heidi) Toerpe; three children Akella (Bee) Yang, Alexis Neri, and Shyla (Riley) Neri; two grandchildren Alaia Yang and Kaya Yang; adopted sister Angela (Pierre) Bolden and her family Aysha (Zach), Cora, Sophia, Ahmani, Izabelah, and Pinelopi; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Patricia Toerpe, grandparents Frank (Marina) Krajewski and Edward (Helen) Toerpe.

Cremation has occurred. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday February 5th, 2023 at Connection Church, 1455 N Rapids Road, Manitowoc WI. Family will be greeting friends and family at 2pm followed by the service starting at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to help defray funeral expenses.
