Rebecca's obituary
In Loving Memory of Rebecca Andeer
Rebecca “Becky” Mae (Carps) Andeer, 71, of Bloomfield Hills, MI passed away peacefully at Beaumont/Corewell Hospital on August 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in 1953 in Detroit, MI, Becky was the daughter of the late Elaine (Accorsi) and Roy Carps, and was one of seven children. Becky grew up in Southfield, MI and graduated from Southfield High School. She was a graduate of Wayne State University. Becky found joy in her family and her children and worked in the home until returning to school later in life to pursue ministry, becoming an ordained minister in the Congregational Church. Becky served as a certified hospital and hospice chaplain for many years, truly enjoying the mission of caring for others.
Becky never shied away from a challenge and instead chose to seize the day no matter the circumstances. Her tenacity to enjoy her life and her family despite her many health concerns was admirable. She traveled extensively with her family and friends. She loved good wine and champagne. Her tremendous cooking brought an endless bounty of boisterous and joyous meals and she always had room for another seat at her table. She was an avid reader, a lover of music and theater, and a talented seamstress. She loved to craft and she enjoyed many community and volunteer interests and opportunities.
Becky was a truly devoted and fiercely loyal daughter, mother, wife, and friend. She gave her love and provided humor, support, and encouragement, unconditionally. Her spirit and outspoken personality will live on in those that loved her deeply. Becky is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Randolph Andeer, her children Eric Andeer, Lauren (Anthony) DeGrazia, Rachel (Brandon) Duvlea, and Carl (Victoria) Andeer, her eight grandchildren Bode, Rue, Ada, August, Osa, Siggardt, Hugh, and Percy.
Rebecca’s passing leaves her loved ones and dear friends with a profound feeling of loss. A private celebration of her life will occur at a later date.
