Raymond's obituary
Raymond W. Estepp passed away on January 20, 2026, at his home in Muskegon, Michigan, at the age of 69.
He was born on March 31, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, to Raymond G. Estepp and Catherine Gardner Estepp. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Randy Estepp, who passed in 2018.
Raymond’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his sons, Raymond T. Estepp and his wife Arica of Palmer, Alaska; Dustin Estepp and his wife Andrea of Houston, Texas; and Logan Estepp and his wife Daniele of Holland, Michigan. He is also survived by his daughter, Erin Johnson and her husband Trevor of Tampa, Florida. Raymond leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren; Colin and his wife Crystal, Owen, Ian, Peyton, Knox, Nathan, Ava, Mia, Hunter, Isabella, Katelynn and her husband Marc, Elyse, and Wyatt, as well as one soon-to-arrive great-grandchild. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews, all of whom brought him deep joy and purpose.
He is additionally survived by his siblings, Richard Estepp; Christine Dingman and her husband Edward; and Royce Estepp and his wife Kelli.
Family, tradition, and service were deeply important to Raymond. He held special pride in his family’s strong military legacy, which he honored through his beloved “Wall of Heroes”, which he built in his home. These photos of family members who served were profound to him; he displayed them with love and shared their stories at every opportunity.
Raymond spent many years working as a maintenance mechanic at Eagle Ottawa and other manufacturing companies before retiring. He believed in hard work, took pride in craftsmanship, and valued doing things the right way.
A lifelong lover of Muskegon, Raymond felt most at peace near the water. He enjoyed daily walks along the Muskegon Channel and Pier Marquette, places that held special meaning to him. In his younger years during the 1970s, he was known for his adventurous spirit, often jumping from the lighthouse and spending time at the Ovals, memories that still bring smiles to those who remember him.
Raymond was deeply loved and will be remembered for his loyalty, strong work ethic, love of family, and deep connection to the place he called home. His life mattered, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
