Raymond's obituary

Raymond Anthony Ruhr, age 64, passed away from a heart attack on November 11, 2022 (Veterans Day) in Little Rock, AR.

Ray served in the United States Marine Corps  (1975-1979 active; 1979-1981 Reserves) and received an honorable discharge on January 26, 1981. While serving in the Marine Corps, he worked as a cook and traveled to California, Hawaii, and Australia. After his discharge from the military, Ray had a committed career as a bartender at several establishments in St. Louis, MO. He left the workforce in 2017 and in 2018, Ray moved to Little Rock, AR with his family. 

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad and LaVerta (Hearst) Ruhr. He was the second youngest of nine children and his siblings include Gail Roulston, Sue Price (deceased), John Zdanowski, Frank Zdanowski (deceased), Robert Ruhr, Rosemary Finnegan, LaVerta Bowles, and Nancy Schaefer.

Ray is survived by his loving spouse (unmarried) of over 35 years Linda Radvin, daughter Lindsay Rae Ruhr, (son-in-law Derrick Redhead), and granddaughters Bailey Rae Perkins and Wesleigh Autumn Ruhr-Redhead. 

A service to celebrate the life of Raymond will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. All are welcome to attend.

Following the service, please join us for drinks and fellowship at Cafe Telegraph which is located at 2650 Telegraph Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125.
