Ray's obituary
Raymond Paul Hanson “Ray”, 34, of Lyndhurst, died Sunday, December 3, 2023. Born in Glen Cove, NY, June 18, 1989, he was a son of Gil and Ingrid Hanson.
Ray had the most beautiful, compassionate soul. He was a passionate advocate for animal rights and equality for all. Ray was a connoisseur of music and spent his free time discovering new music and genres. His favorite genre of Punk music was more than just a favorite band or sound it was a lifestyle, a movement, a notion of individuality and non-conformity that he proudly wore. He taught every person he met not to judge a book by their cover. Ray was also an amazing chef who focused on his dedication to his craft and efforts to introduce delicious vegan food. His care for the trade made him a guiding light for those who shared the love to cook and they looked to him as a leader and mentor. All the delicious meals he made, shared by hundreds, are only a reflection of his beautiful soul… A man who loved so many and is loved by all. To know Ray was to love Ray and be loved by him and he deeply loved his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah Marie Hanson; his brother Jon Hanson, his maternal grandmother Heidi Gallart, he is also survived by his niece Luna Kerby; many loved pets, extended family and close friends.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Family and close friends are invited to Ingrid and Gil’s home after the funeral for food, drinks and time to celebrate the life of this amazing man.
