Jim's obituary
Raymond "Jim" James Enos Jr., born July 8 in Massachusetts, passed away on July 4th at the age of 80. He served his country as a Navy corpsman and bravely took part in the Vietnam War. Following his service, he dedicated himself to the Wilmington Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. An excellent police officer, Jim knew everyone in Wilmington by name and was he was just an all-around great man.
Jim is preceded in death by his mother, Leona S. Enos; his father, Raymond James Enos; and his beloved son, “Jimmy” Raymond James Enos III. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; his daughters, Pam Brazelton (Wayne) and Lindsey Bryant (Elissa) ; and his cherished grandchildren, Bryce Brazelton, Kaleb Bryant, Tessa Bryant, Jacob Bryant, and Charleigh Bryant.
Jim loved being a part of the WPD and spent his youth water skiing and enjoying days out on his "Damn Boat" with dear friends and family. He loved his purple Jeep and later his purple motorcycle. After retiring from the WPD, he found joy working at Britt Motorsports with all the young guys.
In 2011, Jim moved to Florida, where he was greatly missed by his family and friends in Wilmington. There, he married his high school sweetheart, Eleanor, and cherished his dog, Bella. He always loved hearing from friends and was a great friend to many but was even more dearly loved by his kids. Jim adored his grandchildren and was the best dad anyone could ask for.
A service will be held in Beverly Hills, FL on Saturday, July 20th.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Saturday, August 3 in Wilmington, NC. Time and location TBA
