Raymond's obituary
In 1975, he began a career that would span 38 years with United Airlines in engine maintenance where he developed his love of travel.
Ray was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast his entire life, supporting all Bay Area teams. He was a 49ers season ticket holder for over fifty years. He loved hosting the tailgate parties for his many friends, right up through the current season at Levi Stadium, one mile from his home in Sunnyvale. Ray attended all six 49er Super Bowls. In addition to enjoying professional sports, he loved coaching and attending his children's sporting events throughout their youth.
Ray retired from United Airlines in 2013 and enjoyed the past 6-1/2 years traveling to his timeshares in Palm Desert and Hawaii.
The week leading up to his passing was special with many friends and family by his bedside, sharing stories spanning decades. Ray never lost his sense of humor, joking with friends, family, and the hospital staff, right up to the end. He will be truly missed. Survivors include his son Sean, 30 yrs. old and daughter Kimberly, 28 yrs. old, both San Francisco Bay Area residents.
